- Designed to meet the demanding requirements of a state police organization, the Geissele Freedom Weapon® (GFW®) Highwayman utilizes a 10.3” Geissele CHF barrel and 9.3” MK16 Super Modular Rail. This variation provides a versatile system which extends the range and effectiveness of the platform, while still maintaining its compact nature. The additional barrel length offers increased velocity and performance, while the longer handguard provides more real estate for accessories and force multipliers.
- The dual-telescoping GFW stock intuitively opens by simply pulling to the rear and can be deployed from its stowed position immediately and effortlessly. The stock has two solid-lock positions for deployment and requires the deliberate, but simple use of the trigger and detent mechanisms to collapse. While maintaining an ultra-compact footprint, a consistent cheek-weld can be achieved to offer the optimal shooting experience. The GFW Stock design allows unimpeded access to all firing controls even when fully collapsed.Reliability and shooting performance are at the forefront of the GFW Highwayman design. Utilizing the patented Geissele Phased Array® gas system, the GFW is precisely balanced to optimize the 10.3” barrel length. The Geissele Tri-Port® System works in concert with the monolithic bolt carrier buffer system and custom length Super 42® braided buffer spring to achieve surprisingly smooth and controllable recoil impulse. The barrel is Cold Hammer Forged and chrome-lined with a tapered profile, sporting the HUXWRX Flash Hider-QD 5.56 for easy mounting of the patented HUXWRX Flow series of suppressors. The Forged Stressproof Bolt® is made from Carpenter 158+, directly developed with Carpenter Steel metallurgists to create a material that is cleaner and has less impurities. This makes the Stressproof Bolt® stronger and more fatigue resistant, capable of 5 times the life of a mil-spec bolt. The GFW Highwayman features the proven controls and components of the Super Duty line, including the SSA X® trigger, MK16 rail, Airborne Charging Handle, Super Configurable Safety, Maritime Bolt Catch, Anti-Strike Super Compact Gas Block and ergonomic A17 grip. Compact yet capable, the GFW Highwayman is built to meet the demands of those who spend their days covering the long road, where readiness and reliability matter most.
